2021-05-25: The Core Arc is available as a print and digital omnibus!
Some of you have asked for an omnibus version of the Core Arc, and others have asked for a digital version of the game. I am happy to announce that you can now get both! It was no small task to wrestle almost 700 pages into a single volume/pdf, but I am very happy with the result. I got the Core Arc down to 160 A4-sized pages, fully illustrated. Go to the Buy Page.
2020-11-27: #4 and #5 are out! Core Arc Concluded!
Finally, the issues are out! Issue #4 is a massive 336 pages about leading the game and creating your own adventures. It concludes the Core Arc and also contains a first adventure. Issue #5 is a 16+4 page convenience booklet with brief rules summaries and references to the previous issues. Go to the Buy Page.
2020-08-06: Progress on Issues #4 and #5
Summer and vacation means I have more time to write. Issue #4 is progressing nicely on schedule. It currently looks like it will end up at around 256 pages—twice the page count of the previous two issues! There is so much in there that I can’t wait for you to see! For example, yesterday I finished a tool for procedurally generated faction reactions (and chain-reactions) to events. It turned out great and will increase the replayability of adventures a lot. The day before that, I finished texts on ptilians and TGM that I also think you will love. And so on!
As Issue #4 is slowly approaching the layout phase, I have also started on the shorter Issue #5, which will be a single issue and not part of an arc. You can read about it in the new section on this site. It is possible that I will release #4 or #5 simulatenously, or even in reverse order! After that I will be turning my attention to a new arc, consisting of a first longer adventure. It will be released in 2021 and likely encompass two or three issues.
Stay tuned for more news after summer!
2020-06-24: Lulu & Format/Layout Changes in Issues #1–#3
In April, Lulu (the on demand company that prints and sells my books) made the biggest change to their system yet. All projects had to be migrated, and a new array of printing options were made available. The migration of my projects required some hands on assistance from Lulu staff, and during this time, I closed shop for the majority of my projects. This period is coming to an end. Thanks to really stellar support, I am now beginning to make my books available for sale again, starting with the Suldokar’s Wake issues #1–#3.
You will notice that the Suldokar books don’t look like they did before the change. During the downtime, I have taken advantage of the new possibilities Lulu are offering. The digest format can now be printed with cream colored, quality book paper—a very welcome change!—so I have picked it instead of the previous and somewhat larger trade format. While I was at it, I also adjusted the layout to become less sensitive to change and small differences in printing (the books print in many countries). The last months, I have come to realize that as my number of publications are growing, so does the need for robustness and flexibility: I don’t want to be in a situation where I have to make a lot of small (or substantial) layout changes to a long series of Suldokar issues in the future. The content of issues #1 and #2 has not changed, except for errata and two illustrations that didn’t work well in the new layout.
I have not forgotten the brave early adopters of the prerelease and trade size issues #1 and #2. In Issue #3, you will find some official rules and character advantages available only to someone who brings an old copy to the table.
Thank your for your patience during the downtime!
